PHIA team works with communities and empower them to access their rights and entitlements, have access to equal opportunities and live with dignity and respect. PHIA works with a range of partners, community organisations and stakeholders to ensure the poorest and most marginalised communities are reached. The organisation focuses on reducing inequality, improving access to essential services, ensuring sustainable livelihood, humanitarian response and climate change.

Abhivyakti Foundation
Abhivyakti Foundation strives to promote local self-help initiatives for environmental conservation and sustainable livelihoods, supporting the poorest communities. It aligns with the SAARTHI network to facilitate a Just Transition that benefits local communities and ecology, ensuring the active inclusion of marginalized sections of society.

Society for Rural Industrialisation
Society for Rural Industrialisation is committed to its mission of working for climate resilience and environment sustainability in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals. Since its inception in 1984, the organisation has been working actively in areas of land and water management, biodiversity, alternative energy, soil management, forest reforestation, water land harvesting and water governance.

Asar
Asar Social Impact Advisors is a startup in the environment and social justice impact space with a commitment to building climate resilience and ambitious climate action. We identify challenges and opportunities, research them, verify ground truths, and understand local contexts, in order to build innovative strategies that are rooted in reality. Asar convenes multi-stakeholder conversations and helps build relationships between various key actors to be able to sustain collaborations essential to deliver real-world impact.

Policy and Development Advisory Group (PDAG)
Founded in 2018, Policy and Development Advisory Group (PDAG) is a social impact organisation based in New Delhi. PDAG’s work is focused on achieving evidence-based, data-driven outcomes, and facilitating people-centric policymaking to drive impact at scale. Our work is driven by a rigorous approach to conducting social research, unpacking complex data and driving multi-stakeholder policy dialogues.

Sahyogini is dedicated to empowering disadvantaged and marginalised communities. Guided by the vision of fostering an equitable and self-reliant society, Sahyogini works through research, action, and resource optimisation to drive social and economic empowerment.

Agragati
Agragati aims to foster social cohesion and mutual cooperation, eliminating discrimination based on gender, caste, literacy, and social status while enhancing people’s ability to critically assess societal issues. It works to build alliances among community and women’s organisations, promoting self-confidence, trust, and sustainable development.

Multi Art Association (MAA) has been working directly with the people and involves awareness organization and capacity building process to targeted groups since its inception (i.e. 2005). Samvad
SAMVAD is committed to fostering Indigenocracy—a model rooted in Indigenous systems like Gram Sarkar—promoting equity, gender justice, inclusivity, and democratic values. Operating across 16 districts of Jharkhand, it empowers women and adolescent girls, strengthens Gram Sabhas with equal female participation, and promotes sustainable livelihoods through Indigenous knowledge and skills.

At ASHA, our mission has always been to empower communities, promote social equity, and ensure that development processes are inclusive and sustainable. Joining the SAARTHI Network was a decision aligned with our vision of driving meaningful change through collective action and collaboration.

Lok Prerna Kendra
Lok Prerna Kendra has been dedicated to adolescent girls’ education, women’s empowerment, agriculture, and youth leadership development for the past 35 years and remains committed to driving positive change in society.

Sidha
Sidha is a Ranchi-based community cadre-driven non-profit addressing the climate crisis by blending traditional knowledge with modern science to build regenerative, circular rural and urban economies. Operating in Ramgarh, Jamtara, Koderma, and East Singhbhum, we implement watershed, climate change, and livelihood projects, while offering techno-managerial support to government and civil society partners.

Asmita
ASMITA joins this initiative to empower youth in addressing the growing injustices faced by indigenous communities due to coal mining and climate change. As a youth-led organisation, we believe in amplifying marginalized voices, advocating for rights, and driving sustainable change.

Lahanti
Lahanti was established in 2006 under the leadership of Bitiya Murmu, Lahanti is dedicated to community empowerment and sustainable development in the Santhal Pargana region of Jharkhand and Giridih. Rooted in the principles of “Indigenocracy,” Lahanti works across key sectors, including awareness generation, community rights and entitlements, poverty alleviation, income generation, wasteland development, local self-governance, and the promotion of indigenous art and culture.

Manthan Yuva Sansthan
Manthan Yuva Sansthan has emerged as a leader in community-driven development, emphasizing sustainable livelihoods, climate resilience, and equitable transitions across various districts in Jharkhand, Bihar, and Odisha.

VB Net Foundation
The VB Net Foundation (VBN) is a not-for-profit organisation established on November 28, 2016, under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, and was founded by NGOs operating in Jharkhand. It is the successor to Vikas Bazar dot Net, an informal forum that existed for 11 years, starting in 2005.

Gram Vaani
Gram Vaani is a pioneering Indian social technology enterprise committed to democratising access to information and empowering underserved communities in developing regions. Our mission is to reverse the flow of information, fostering inclusive and participatory media ecosystems through innovative, voice- based interactive media services.

Panchsutra Foundation
Panch Safar aims to develop sustainable and equitable solutions by bringing together communities affected by climate change, experts, social organisations, and policymakers. It seeks to strengthen climate justice by integrating traditional knowledge, scientific research, and community leadership, enabling a more comprehensive and collaborative approach to tackling social issues in Jharkhand.

Ayo Aidari Trust
Aayo Aaydari Trust works in the Santhal Pargana region, with tribal communities on environmental protection, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture, building on generations of traditional knowledge tied to water, forest, and land. The Trust has planted fruit orchards on barren village land, improving nutrition and family income while expanding green cover and supporting biodiversity. We work with farmers to conserve indigenous, climate-resilient millets and promote organic farming using natural inputs instead of chemical fertilizers. Demonstration plots help multiply disappearing seed varieties for redistribution to farmers. The Trust also revives natural water sources for irrigation and promotes cluster farming on unused land, strengthening income, food security, and community cooperation.

Keystone Foundation
Keystone foundation works to achieve livelihood security for indigenous communities, agriculture and food security, land and community rights, community health and development, and conservation of biodiversity. Recognising the interdependence of earth’s natural systems, we focus on the socio-ecological growth of all life in the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Our scope has transcended boundaries to include tribal populations in other parts of the country and collaborations with allied organisations that share our ethos and vision.

Palakiya Foundation
Palakiya partners with South Asian communities, specifically in India, to address systemic inequities and empower vulnerable groups for a sustainable future. Our work is built on three pillars: Climate Justice, Food Sovereignty, and Climate Literacy.

Banwasi Vikas Ashram
Banwasi Vikas Ashram envisions an inclusive society rooted in liberty, equality, fraternity, and justice—free from all forms of discrimination. Its mission is to empower rural communities through education and strategic interventions that foster self- reliance and social transformation. The organisation has impacted over 5,000 lives, focusing on eradicating illiteracy and superstitions, promoting cottage industries, and raising rights awareness.

Lok Kalyan Seva Kendra
Lok Kalyan Seva Kendra focuses on education, women’s and youth empowerment, and awareness on climate change, water, sanitation, hygiene, and child protection. Operating in Pakur, Dumka, Godda, and Sahebganj districts, LKSK has impacted 40,500 lives through interventions in water and sanitation, Gram Sabha empowerment, and livelihood promotion.

Jharkhand Gramin Vikas Trust
Jharkhand Gramin Vikas Trust (JGVT), founded in 2001, is a Jharkhand-based organisation working to uplift marginalized urban and rural communities through need-based development. Registered under the Indian Trust and FCRA Acts, it is led by Director Shankar Rawani and governed by a seven-member executive committee.

Support
SUPPORT has made significant progress in improving the lives of small and marginal families in Jharkhand. The organisation has expanded its reach across 10 districts and 54 blocks, positively impacting over 1 lakh individuals.

Medini Society
Medini Society partners with diverse stakeholders to address region-specific social challenges across Jharkhand. We engage closely with farmers to promote self-employment opportunities and encourage small-scale cottage industries.

LOK SWAR (Voice of the People)
LOK SWAR (Voice of the People) is a voluntary grassroots organization with over 25 years of experience empowering underprivileged communities, particularly women and girls. It promotes social justice, gender equality, and leadership while improving access to education, health, and livelihoods. By mobilizing marginalized rural populations and building local governance capacity, LOK SWAR ensures inclusive development and the protection of rights and entitlements.

Prakash Jan Sewa sansthan
Prakash Jan Sewa Sanstha (PJSS) is a secular, social and benevolent organization working in Jharkhand state in India since 1995. It was established in 1990 but formally registered in March, 1995 under the Society registration Act. It is managed by a seven member executive committee.

Mahila Mukti Sanstha
Mahila Mukti Sanstha is a grassroots organisation working on social issues like women’s empowerment, child marriage, gender-based violence, and sexual and reproductive health. It also supports underprivileged children through education and scholarship programs.

Samarpan
Samarpan is dedicated to ensuring child rights, environmental protection, women’s participation in income-generating activities, and exploring alternative sources of livelihood. We focus on public health and sanitation initiatives, sustainable agricultural development, and empowering marginalized communities by promoting their rights and access to essential services.

Damodar Environment Protection Trust
Damodar Environment Protection Trust’s effort will be made to strengthen climate justice by combining traditional knowledge, scientific research, and community leadership. So that we can understand this work strongly and work together in Jharkhand.

Helping Hand Foundation
Helping Hand Foundation (HHF) is a development organization committed to improving the lives of poor and marginalized communities through awareness generation, capacity building, and collective action. The organization adopts a rights-based approach and follows a process of social mobilization to ensure that development interventions lead to sustainable and holistic outcomes.

SwitchON Foundation
Founded in 2008, SwitchON Foundation (registered as Environment Conservation Society) is an award-winning not-for-profit organisation working at the intersection of clean energy access, climate-resilient agriculture, green livelihoods, and skills development. Headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, the Foundation operates across 8 states in India with a dedicated team of 175+ members, and is committed to transforming 10 million lives through sustainability and innovation.

Urja Arrowhead LLP
Founded in 2023, URJA ARROWHEAD LLP empowers marginalized communities by strengthening local governance through multidisciplinary action research and capacity-building. In 1.5 years, the startup has conducted feasibility studies across eastern India and trained Panchayat representatives and artisans. Notably, its collaboration with PALO NA trains Mukhiyas to combat child abandonment and female infanticide. URJA remains dedicated to resolving rural social issues through local government empowerment.

ODA
Established in 1998, the Organization for Developmental Activities (ODA) is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged rural communities in Jharkhand. The organization has a diverse history of impact, ranging from tuberculosis eradication and sustainable aquaculture to promoting solar energy and providing life insurance for tribal groups. Currently, ODA is focused on collaborating with the SAATHI network to rehabilitate displaced people in mining areas, leveraging local resources and skills to create a just environment for all.

Jan Sewa Parishad Hazaribag (JSPH)
JSPH (Jan Sewa Parishad Hazaribag) employs a holistic approach, combining social action, mobilization, and sustainable development strategies to create a socially just, educated, and egalitarian society, free from exploitation and neglect. The organization is dedicated to addressing multifaceted community challenges and strives for the prudent utilization of human, natural, and institutional resources. Its work focuses on empowering communities, promoting social justice, and fostering a harmonious and sustainable environment for all.

Srijan Mahila Vikas Manch (SMVM)
Srijan Mahila Vikas Manch (SMVM) was formed by a small group of likeminded survivors of child marriage. The main goal of the organisation is to empower the socially and economically marginalised groups to enhance their well-being. Registered in the year 2000 under the Societies Registration Act (21 of 1860), the organization is committed to enhance the participation of the socially excluded and marginalized groups – tribal, minorities, women, children and persons with disabilities – in development processes to build an inclusive society, through varieties of community owned initiatives.

Agadhbodh Foundation
The Agadhbodh Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to uplifting marginalised communities via education, health, sustainable livelihoods, and wellness. It implements impactful initiatives such as eye screenings, digital literacy for the specially-abled, and solar irrigation for farmers. Focusing on research-driven community engagement, the foundation also addresses gender equality and drug abuse prevention to build local resilience.

Jago Foundation
Jago Foundation is a grassroots development organization working in Jharkhand to build an equitable, educated, healthy, and environmentally sustainable society. Their work focuses on integrated community development, linking social justice with ecological responsibility. Key program areas include Education, Health & Nutrition, Child Protection, Gender Equality, Youth Leadership Development, and Climate & Environmental Sustainability. They run initiatives like community learning centres, prevention of child marriage, and climate-sensitive interventions such as water conservation and tree plantation drives.

LIVE FOUNDATION envisions a transformed Jharkhand where women, marginalized communities, and the environment thrive together. By focusing on women empowerment, livelihood enhancement, climate resilience, and the rights of pastoral and forest communities, the organization aims to create a holistic environment of sustainable development. Through collaboration with village volunteers and Panchayati Raj Institution representatives, LIVE FOUNDATION ensures the long-term success and sustainability of its projects.

Adarsh Seva Sansthan
Adarsh Seva Sansthan (ASES), established in 1987 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, empowers marginalised urban slum communities through education and child protection. By strengthening community institutions like Bal Sangathan and Mahila Mandals, ASES addresses risks such as child labor and marriage. Reaching hundreds of families, the organisation builds resilient systems to ensure children can thrive with dignity. As a SAARTHI Network member, ASES collaborates to scale its impact and drive sustainable, systemic change.

FACE
Foundation for Awareness, Counselling & Education (FACE), established in 2002, is an NGO dedicated to empowering rural and marginalised populations. Formed in response to mass illiteracy, poverty, and the exploitation of women and children, FACE aims to build a self-reliant and equitable society. The organization has implemented 22 years of development programs focused on education, women’s empowerment (SHGs, skill training), adolescent health, and community health research.

ISDG Research Foundation
ISDG Research Foundation is a grassroots organization dedicated to building solutions alongside communities. We focus on empowering communities through initiatives in primary education, rural development, skills & micro-entrepreneurship, environmental protection, and development research. We work collaboratively to develop inclusive programs that address the specific needs of each community we partner with, ensuring efficient and sustainable solutions.
